I study architecture in University of Chile, also known as FAU.
this place has been always an option to me, even when i wasn't already know what to study. people used to said this is a place which "open the doors of the world " and make you a required profesional on the future. and that is probably truth... but i choose it because i like the idea of been studing in a public place with such a story behind.
im already in my first year, i cant really said i know the university, because i'm an online student, but i can see that is a place with big espectation of students, and that implicates high levels of contents or too much time working. thats make me think is a good university to became a good profesional. i also like the diversity of persons we can found in here, the exchange of ideas even the organization of groups that raise the rest to share their opinions or demand their rights as a students makes this pretty democratic. Nevertheless, it has defects too. in my opinion, that would be a better university if teachers could have a better reletionship with us, if they help us more than claim us, specially now when the situation demands approach.
About my career especifically, highlight above all that is much practic than teoric, which i like a lot because it is exactly how i like to learn. I quartered a long path to decide for this, As a child i wanted to be a hairdresser, an actress, or a dancer, also pass of vet and ocupatonal therapist to helps others; even laws or astronomy crossed my mind... to my everithing was just too interesting.
But hingh school was ending and i doesn't have any idea of what do before. Then , for the first time in my life realise the imporant of knowing ourself. I stared to investigate more and more about selfknowing and mental health. was then when i decided that i wanted to be a psicologist, despite that i really hates to read. i doesn´t figure me in another job neather ,so that was the better option.
One day my math teacher said something that change my hole idea professional careers "you are not what you study, careers are not nesesarilly your main pourpose in life, you can take it just as a tool for adult life. Just choose something that you like"
I finally understand, and i choose soething thinking in my way of life and essence. i think my youngest versión woud be happy to see that i choose something artistic and multidiciplinary. its a pretty versatile career, and the posibilities of profesional life are infinits. i think i take the right decision.
